Birmingham, AL – Central Alabama residents can expect a mostly sunny Sunday with warm temperatures and only a slight chance of rain in eastern parts of the state, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Birmingham.

Forecasters said Sunday highs will reach the upper 80s in the east and climb to the low 90s across the southwest, including Tuscaloosa, Demopolis, and Selma. Areas like Birmingham and Jasper are forecast near 89 degrees, while Montgomery and Auburn should top out just under 90.

According to the NWS, tonight’s temperatures will cool into the low-to-upper 60s across the region, with northwest counties such as Hamilton and Jasper dipping into the lower 60s, while areas farther south and central will remain closer to the upper 60s. Skies will stay mostly clear overnight.

Looking ahead, Monday brings a shift with partly cloudy skies and a chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms mainly in eastern Alabama. Highs Monday are expected to range from the mid-80s east to around 90 in the southwest.

The NWS advised residents in Gadsden, Anniston, and Alex City to monitor conditions Monday afternoon for possible scattered storms, while most of central and western Alabama should stay dry and warm.
