Huntsville, AL – Heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms are expected to move across North Alabama today, with forecasters warning of possible ponding in areas of poor drainage, especially across northwest Alabama and southern middle Tennessee.

According to the U.S. National Weather Service in Huntsville, medium to high rain chances are forecast from this morning through tonight, with rainfall probabilities between 40–75%. Afternoon and evening commuters are urged to drive cautiously, as brief heavy downpours may reduce visibility and cause localized flooding on roadways.

Temperatures will remain warm, reaching highs between 79–84°F today and cooling overnight into the mid-60s. A slight chance of showers lingers Wednesday morning before dry and mild conditions return Thursday and continue into the weekend.

The extended forecast calls for highs in the low to mid-70s Thursday through Saturday, with overnight lows dipping into the low 50s by week’s end. Sunshine is expected to dominate Friday and Saturday, providing a pleasant start to the weekend after a damp start to the week.

Residents are encouraged to monitor local updates and stay alert for any changes in weather advisories.
