Huntsville, AL – After a mild and sunny start to the weekend, wet weather is on the way for North Alabama as a storm system moves in late Saturday night, according to the National Weather Service in Huntsville.
Forecasters expect rain to overspread the region late Saturday, lasting through early Monday, with the potential for locally heavy rainfall on Sunday. A low risk of brief flooding exists, particularly in areas that experience the heaviest downpours.
Highs will remain in the mid-60s to mid-70s Friday and Saturday, before cooling into the 50s and 60s Sunday and Monday as the front pushes through. Overnight lows will range from the 40s to low 50s, with cooler air settling in early next week.
Low to medium rain chances are expected to persist into Tuesday before drier conditions return midweek. The NWS urges residents to monitor updates and be alert for any flood advisories, especially in low-lying or poor drainage areas.
