Huntsville, Ala. – Scorching heat will grip north Alabama again Saturday as temperatures soar into the 90s and heat indices near 107, just a day after a heat advisory blanketed the region through 7 p.m. Friday.

According to the National Weather Service in Huntsville, Saturday’s high in the city is expected to reach 94°F with patchy fog early and a 40% chance of afternoon thunderstorms. Heat index values may climb above 103°F between noon and 5 p.m., making it crucial to limit time outdoors, especially for workers and those without air conditioning.

Local impacts will be felt along major corridors like I-565 and U.S. 72, where drivers should prepare for vehicle overheating and sluggish traffic during peak heat hours. Cities including Decatur, Scottsboro, and Cullman will also face oppressive conditions, with highs well into the 90s.

Residents should drink plenty of water, wear light clothing, and check on vulnerable neighbors. While no additional heat alerts have been issued yet, high humidity and afternoon storms will remain a threat into early next week.
