Huntsville, Alabama – Steamy summer conditions will grip North Alabama through at least Wednesday, with daily storms, heavy rainfall, and sweltering heat indices nearing 100°F.

According to the National Weather Service in Huntsville, a warm and humid airmass will remain over the region into next week, bringing 30–60% chances of thunderstorms each day. While severe weather is not expected, storms could bring gusty winds, lightning, and pockets of localized flooding, especially during the afternoon and evening hours.

Temperatures will climb into the upper 80s and low 90s from Saturday through Wednesday. Combined with high humidity, heat indices are forecast to reach 95–100°F—posing a risk for heat-related illness if precautions aren’t taken. Cities including Huntsville, Decatur, and Scottsboro will see the most consistent storm activity and muggy overnight lows in the upper 60s to low 70s.

Residents are urged to limit outdoor activity during peak afternoon heat, stay hydrated, and monitor for lightning if working outside or attending weekend events. Use extra caution on roadways as heavy rain could reduce visibility and cause ponding in low-lying areas.

Storm chances and high heat remain in the forecast through midweek, with updated outlooks expected daily.
