Huntsville, Alabama – Temperatures are rising quickly across North Alabama this evening, setting the stage for a warm, dry weekend that could push highs into the mid-80s before a noticeable cooldown arrives early next week.

According to the National Weather Service in Huntsville, highs will reach between 67 and 72 degrees Thursday before climbing into the upper 70s Friday. Dry conditions will dominate, allowing for steady warming into the weekend with abundant sunshine.

Cities across the Tennessee Valley, including Decatur, Florence, and Scottsboro, will see highs peak between 79 and 86 degrees by Saturday and Sunday. The warmest conditions are expected Sunday afternoon, with clear skies supporting above-average temperatures for mid-March.

While no rain is expected, the dry stretch may begin to impact soil moisture and increase early-season fire sensitivity in grassy areas. Residents planning outdoor activities should stay hydrated and use caution with open flames.

A cold front moves through late Sunday into Monday, dropping highs back into the mid to upper 60s. Cooler mornings will follow, with lows dipping into the upper 30s and low 40s.
