Jefferson County, AL – Two teenagers were killed and six others were injured early Sunday morning after a single-vehicle crash on Mt. Olive Road, according to authorities.
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded at approximately 2:58 a.m. Sunday to the area near Patridge Loop following reports of a serious traffic accident. When deputies arrived, they discovered multiple ejections from the vehicle and confirmed fatalities. An 18-year-old male and a 19-year-old male were pronounced dead at the scene.
Six additional passengers, one male and five females ranging in age from 16 to 19, were transported to UAB Hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening, according to the sheriff’s office.
Preliminary investigation alleges that the crash involved a pickup truck carrying eight people. Deputies allege the vehicle left the roadway and struck a utility pole, resulting in the fatal crash and multiple injuries.
