Cullman County, AL – Commuters on Interstate 65 northbound face major delays this morning after two separate crashes shut down lanes near mile marker 292 in Cullman County.
According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), the incidents occurred at approximately 5:48 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17. Both crashes led to a full blockage of the northbound lanes, and officials say the closure will remain in place for an undetermined amount of time.
Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division are on scene investigating and working to clear the roadway. Authorities said they will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as conditions change.
Drivers traveling through Cullman County toward north Alabama and Tennessee should expect significant delays and consider alternate routes this morning. No details were immediately released regarding injuries or the number of vehicles involved in the crashes.
Motorists are urged to use caution in the area, follow detours, and allow for extra travel time.
