According to the National Weather Service in Huntsville, a 60% chance of showers and storms will develop after 1 p.m. Sunday. Highs will reach 94°F, but it will feel closer to 105°F due to extreme humidity. Patchy fog is also possible before 7 a.m., reducing visibility across city roadways like I-565 and U.S. 231.
Localized downpours could trigger slick roads during late-day travel, especially near low-lying areas. Storms may also bring gusty winds and brief lightning bursts. Drivers should delay non-essential travel during the afternoon and evening. Keep devices charged in case of temporary outages.
Sunday night will clear slightly, with a low around 73°F and calmer conditions.
By Monday, another round of storms is likely after 1 p.m., along with highs near 94°F and more early fog. Tuesday’s heat intensifies to 95°F before another storm chance Tuesday night. The risk of storms will continue into Wednesday, which holds the week’s highest rain potential at 50%.
