Huntsville, AL – A shift toward warmer spring weather is coming to Alabama, but not before a round of rain overnight.
According to the National Weather Service, scattered showers are expected late Saturday into early Sunday, with a 40% chance of rain after 2 a.m. Clouds will linger through Sunday morning before clearing later in the day. Temperatures will stay cool, with a high of 58°F in Huntsville and surrounding areas.
Sunday night brings a higher chance of rain, with a 60% likelihood of showers, mainly before midnight. Expect mostly cloudy skies and lows near 43°F. By Monday, conditions improve significantly, with mostly sunny skies and highs reaching 65°F.
Looking ahead, spring-like weather will settle in for much of the week. Tuesday’s high will climb to 72°F under sunny skies, and by Wednesday, temperatures will hit 74°F. Overnight lows will range from the upper 30s to mid-50s, staying mild through the week.
Drivers along I-565 and other major Alabama roadways should be aware of wet roads overnight, particularly before dawn on Sunday. No severe weather is expected, but rain could impact early morning travel.
Daylight saving time begins early Sunday, so clocks should be set forward one hour before bed Saturday night. With longer daylight hours and warming temperatures ahead, Alabama residents can look forward to a pleasant spring week.
