Huntsville, AL – Spring weather in Alabama is off to a turbulent start as strong winds, scattered showers, and weekend storms sweep across Huntsville.

A Wind Advisory remains in effect until 7 a.m. Thursday, with gusts reaching up to 25 mph across Madison County. According to the National Weather Service, breezy conditions and a slight chance of overnight showers could make for a rough commute early Thursday, especially along I-565 and surrounding roadways.

Skies will briefly clear Thursday afternoon with highs near 86°F, but wind gusts around 20 mph will persist. Friday brings calmer, mostly sunny conditions with temperatures peaking at 87°F, giving North Alabama a short reprieve before storm chances surge Saturday.

Saturday’s forecast warns of increasing instability. A 90% chance of rain arrives by the afternoon, and isolated thunderstorms could produce heavy rainfall or localized flooding. Residents are urged to monitor conditions, especially in low-lying areas and near creeks. Rain and storm activity will likely extend into Sunday morning.

Sunday offers only a slight break with early showers before drier skies emerge in the evening. The weather will turn noticeably cooler early next week. Expect lows dipping into the upper 30s by Monday night, with sunny skies returning Tuesday and Wednesday.
