HUNTSVILLE, AL – The first weekend of March brings sunny skies and mild temperatures to Huntsville, but rain is set to return by Tuesday night. Residents can expect a mostly clear and dry start to the week before showers move in midweek, bringing cooler temperatures.
According to the National Weather Service, Sunday will be sunny with a high of 51°F, followed by a partly cloudy night with a low near 33°F. Monday brings slightly warmer conditions, reaching 60°F with light winds. However, clouds will increase Monday night, leading to a low of 48°F.
By Tuesday, a 20% chance of afternoon showers develops as highs climb to 69°F. Rain becomes more widespread by Tuesday night, with a 100% chance of showers and temperatures dropping to 54°F. Wednesday will be mostly sunny again with a high of 62°F, offering a brief break from the rain.
For those commuting early in the week, roads should remain dry through Monday. However, Tuesday night’s rain could create slick conditions on major routes like I-565 and U.S. Highway 72. Travelers should check forecasts before heading out.
Looking ahead, Thursday is expected to be mostly cloudy with highs in the mid-50s, and another round of showers is possible by Friday. Huntsville residents should enjoy the sunshine while it lasts before the wet weather pattern returns midweek.
