Huntsville, AL – Sunny spring days will dominate North Alabama this week, but a sudden cooldown and storm chances are on the way by midweek.

According to the National Weather Service in Huntsville, Tuesday will remain mostly sunny with highs near 68°F. However, a sharp drop into the low 40s is expected by Tuesday night, raising the potential for patchy frost in rural areas. Winds could gust up to 25 mph Tuesday afternoon, making conditions feel cooler than forecasted.

Monday night holds a 40 percent chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly between midnight and 5 a.m. While no severe weather is expected, isolated downpours and gusty winds may impact overnight travel. Residents near major corridors like I-565 should stay alert to changing road conditions.

The spring weather pattern remains dry and mild for the middle of the week. Wednesday and Thursday will bring clear skies and daytime highs in the upper 60s to upper 70s. Winds will remain light, but evenings could be brisk.

Looking ahead to Easter weekend, the chance of rain returns. By Friday, skies will turn mostly cloudy, with a high near 74°F. Saturday will also stay mostly cloudy with highs in the low 80s and a continued threat of late-day showers.
