Birmingham, AL – A 35-year-old man was killed Tuesday night in Center Point after being found with a gunshot wound, according to the Jefferson County Sheriffโ€™s Office.

According to deputies, officers were dispatched around 9:22 p.m. to the 2300 block of 2nd Place NE following reports of a person down. When they arrived, deputies discovered the victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Officials said life-saving measures were immediately attempted on scene.

Center Point Fire & Rescue responded and transported the man to UAB Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, according to the sheriffโ€™s office. Authorities have not released the victimโ€™s name at this time.

As of Wednesday morning, investigators said no arrests or charges have been filed in the case. The Jefferson County Sheriffโ€™s Office is urging anyone with information about the shooting to come forward.
