Birmingham, AL – A 35-year-old man was killed Tuesday night in Center Point after being found with a gunshot wound, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.

According to deputies, officers were dispatched around 9:22 p.m. to the 2300 block of 2nd Place NE following reports of a person down. When they arrived, deputies discovered the victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Officials said life-saving measures were immediately attempted on scene.

Center Point Fire & Rescue responded and transported the man to UAB Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, according to the sheriff’s office. Authorities have not released the victim’s name at this time.

As of Wednesday morning, investigators said no arrests or charges have been filed in the case. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone with information about the shooting to come forward.
