On Thursday, Sept. 25, ALEA confirmed the body of an adult female was recovered from the Tombigbee River in Sumter County. The following day, Sept. 26, the body of a child was also located in the river. Officials said both identifications are pending final confirmation by the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences.
