Birmingham, Alabama – Temperatures across central Alabama are expected to rise into the upper 80s and low 90s today, bringing summer-like heat and mostly sunny skies from Birmingham to Alex City.

According to the National Weather Service in Birmingham, highs will reach 90°F in Tuscaloosa and Alex City, with Birmingham, Clanton, and Jasper close behind at 88°F. Gadsden and Anniston will see highs just under 90°F. Tonight, temperatures will fall slightly, with lows dipping into the upper 60s to low 70s across the region.

Communities from Hamilton to Fayette will feel the cooler end of the spectrum overnight, settling near 69°F, while Birmingham and Tuscaloosa hold warmer around 71°F. While today’s sunshine may bring relief for outdoor activities, residents are reminded to stay hydrated and limit strenuous work during peak heat hours.
