Dothan, Alabama – Isolated severe storms could bring quarter-size hail and damaging winds up to 60 mph to parts of southeast Alabama and southwest Georgia by Sunday evening, prompting a slight risk alert for the region.

According to the National Weather Service in Tallahassee, a level 2 of 5 risk is now in place for cities including Dothan, Albany, Valdosta, and Moultrie. Storms are expected to form along a boundary stretching northwest from I-10 into central Alabama and southern Georgia, particularly through the late afternoon and early evening hours.

Communities in the slight risk zone may experience isolated pockets of damaging wind and hail. While most of the threat remains north of I-10, a southward shift in the storm boundary could bring thunderstorm activity closer to Panama City, Tallahassee, and Apalachicola.

Travelers are urged to monitor local alerts and avoid non-essential driving during active storm periods. Secure outdoor items and ensure mobile devices are charged in case of brief power outages.

Storm chances are expected to taper off later tonight, but further updates are possible if the boundary moves. Stay weather-aware as new advisories may be issued through Sunday night.
