Mobile, AL – A Cold Weather Advisory remains in effect until 8 a.m. Friday for parts of south-central and southwest Alabama, northwest Florida, and southeast Mississippi, including Mobile, Pensacola, and Gulf Shores.

The National Weather Service reports wind chills as low as 15 degrees overnight, with air temperatures dipping below 30 degrees. These conditions pose risks of frostbite or hypothermia with prolonged outdoor exposure and may damage sensitive crops.

Residents are advised to dress in layers, including hats and gloves, and limit outdoor activities. Farmers and gardeners should take steps to protect vulnerable plants and crops from freezing temperatures.

Animals are also at risk in these conditions. Bring pets indoors and ensure outdoor livestock have adequate shelter and access to unfrozen water.
