Huntsville, AL – Alabama is preparing for a series of storms starting Sunday, with heavy rainfall and potential flooding expected. Residents should brace for wet conditions through Tuesday as the National Weather Service in Huntsville has forecasted an 80-90% chance of thunderstorms.

According to the National Weather Service, localized flooding could occur due to rainfall totals ranging from 1 to 3 inches, with some areas possibly receiving up to 4 inches. Thunderstorm activity is likely to decrease by mid-week, though temperatures are anticipated to rise significantly.

The forecast for Huntsville includes an 80% chance of rain today, with temperatures reaching a high of 83°F. On Monday, rain chances remain high at 65%, with a high of 87°F. By Tuesday, the chance of rain drops to 35%, but temperatures will climb to 92°F.

Wednesday marks the beginning of a heatwave, with sunny skies and a high of 94°F. The heat will intensify Thursday and Friday, with highs of 95°F. Heat indices are expected to exceed 105°F, making it essential for residents to stay hydrated and limit outdoor activities during peak hours.
