Huntsville, AL – Strong winds and heavy rain will impact North Alabama Saturday night, followed by much colder temperatures next week. A Wind Advisory is in effect from midnight through noon Sunday, with gusts up to 35 mph.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), showers and thunderstorms Saturday night could bring 1 to 2 inches of rain, potentially causing minor flooding. After the storm system moves out, temperatures will drop significantly, with highs struggling to reach the 40s by midweek.

Sunday will see lingering showers in the morning before turning mostly cloudy, with highs in the mid-50s. Washington’s Birthday (Monday) will be sunny but much colder, with highs in the mid-40s. The cooling trend continues, with lows dipping into the teens by Wednesday.

Wednesday: Rain/snow mix possible, high of 40°F.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, high near 32°F.

Friday: Sunny, high near 38°F.
