Albany, NY – A Winter Storm Watch remains in effect for Herkimer, Hamilton, and Northern Fulton Counties from late Tuesday night through Wednesday night, with 7 inches or more of snow expected across the southern Adirondacks, according to the National Weather Service in Albany.
Forecast models show a 60–100% chance of at least 4 inches of snow across higher elevations north of Albany, with 40–80% odds of 8 inches or more in the heaviest bands near Old Forge and Indian Lake. Snowfall amounts will taper off farther south, with lighter accumulations likely across the Mohawk Valley and Capital District.
Drivers should anticipate snow-covered roads, reduced visibility, and slippery travel conditions beginning late Tuesday night and continuing through Wednesday night. Mountain routes are expected to experience the most significant impacts.
Lower valley areas may see mixed precipitation or lighter snow totals. Forecasters urge residents to monitor updates as the storm track becomes clearer.
