Adams County, WI – A Friendship man is facing multiple felony and misdemeanor charges after authorities say a crash along State Highway 13 led to his 10th operating while intoxicated (OWI) arrest and the discovery of an outstanding domestic abuse case.

According to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded Sunday, December 29, to a reported motor vehicle crash in the 800 block of State Highway 13 in the Township of Big Flats. Upon arrival, a deputy observed evidence indicating a vehicle traveling on SH 13 had lost control and struck several trees.

Authorities made contact with the driver, who reportedly denied being injured. The deputy allegedly detected a strong odor of intoxicants coming from the driver’s breath and observed additional signs of impairment, according to the sheriff’s office. The driver refused field sobriety testing and was subsequently arrested for Operating While Under the Influence – 10th Offense.

The driver was identified as Kevin Lacourse, 53, of Friendship, Wisconsin. Deputies later determined Lacourse was also wanted in connection with a domestic abuse incident reported December 27, for which probable cause had already been established.

Lacourse was arrested on multiple charges across the two cases, including battery related to domestic violence, disorderly conduct related to domestic violence, operating while intoxicated (10th offense), operating a motor vehicle while suspended, failure to carry proof of insurance, failure to maintain vehicle control, tampering with or failing to install an ignition interlock device, and a probation hold.

According to officials, Lacourse was issued a $7,500 cash bond related to the OWI charge and a $1,000 signature bond for the domestic violence-related charges in Adams County Circuit Court. At the time of release, Lacourse remained incarcerated in the Adams County Jail due to the probation hold and cash bond requirement.
