Plumas County, CA – Emergency teams responded to a canoe accident at Echo Lake involving a 67-year-old man. The man’s canoe overturned, leaving him stranded in distress in the northern part of Plumas County.
According to the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office, the incident prompted a swift rescue effort. Due to existing search and rescue operations for another ongoing mission, additional resources were needed. The USFS Lassen National Forest, Peninsula and Chester Fire units, and CHP air support responded. Teams arrived quickly to bring the man safely out of the water.
The Sheriff’s Office praised the collaborative efforts between agencies, highlighting the quick response. Despite the challenges of managing two simultaneous emergencies, the joint response ensured the situation was resolved safely. No further information on the victim’s condition has been released, but authorities confirmed he is now out of immediate danger.
