Venango Township, PA – Authorities are renewing efforts to solve the decades-old disappearance of Barbara Jane Shumac, last seen on December 16, 1982. The Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) Troop E – Erie Station is seeking public assistance, offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to solving the case.
According to the PSP, Shumac was 29 years old when she went missing from her residence on Kimball Road after an argument with her husband. She is believed to have left on foot between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. that day. No contact has been made with her since.
Shumac is described as 5’4” tall, weighing 110 pounds, with hazel eyes and brown hair. At the time of her disappearance, she was reportedly wearing a dark blue snowmobile suit, blue jeans, and blue-gray snow boots.
