KANKAKEE – The Kankakee County Sheriff’s Office announced Monday afternoon the arrest of 35 individuals in a recent sex offenders compliance check throughout Kankakee County last week.
The Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the US Marshals’ Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force. Over 300 compliance checks were preformed, resulting in 35 arrests.
“Numerous violators will be charged federally, while others will face local charges, as a result of the violations,” the Kankakee County Sheriff’s Office said Monday afternoon in a statement.
“I sincerely thank the US Marshals’ Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force and all of the assisting agencies for their efforts last week,” said Kankakee County Sheriff Mike Downey. “Joint operations, such as these, contribute to safer communities for all.”
Further continuing investigations by local officials may result in additional arrests at a future date.
