Bedford County, PA – Authorities are revisiting the 2017 fatal shooting of a Maryland man at a Southampton Township hunting cabin. A $5,000 reward is being offered for tips leading to an arrest.

On July 8, 2017, police found Daniel J. Sufczynski, 58, shot at a remote Tulsa Road property. The gunman fled before law enforcement arrived. Emergency responders rushed Sufczynski to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, witnesses reported a male suspect wearing a ski mask during the shooting. The motive remains unclear, and no arrests have been made. Investigators hope renewed attention will generate actionable leads.

Southampton Township Supervisor Karen Cregger described the area as secluded, with few year-round residents. Many properties, including Sufczynski’s, serve as seasonal cabins.

State police are urging anyone with information to come forward. They believe someone in the community may hold the key to solving this case. Tips can be submitted anonymously by calling 814-696-6158 or through the Pennsylvania State Police Tip Line at 1-800-4PA-TIPS.
