St. Louis, MO – A group of protesters interrupted the annual St. Louis Pride parade on Market Street just before 1 p.m.
According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, parade organizers requested SLMPD Commanders to disperse the demonstrators, issuing three warnings before making arrests. Protesters had connected their arms with chains inside PVC pipes. The St. Louis Fire Department assisted in cutting through the pipes and chains to extricate individuals.
Nineteen people were taken into custody, with 11 charged with trespassing and resisting arrest and eight charged with trespassing. No injuries were reported.
