Scott County, IA – Scott County officials completed a thorough compliance check on 508 registered sex offenders from October 27 to October 30. Authorities ensured that all offenders met residency and registration requirements. The operation included 43 registered offenders working or studying in the county but residing elsewhere.

The Scott County Sheriff’s Office, assisted by local and state law enforcement, spearheaded the operation. Collaborators included the Davenport, Bettendorf, and LeClaire Police Departments, the Walcott Police Department, the Iowa Department of Public Safety, and the Scott Emergency Communications Center.

Officials contacted each sex offender in person to verify compliance. During the check, 14 individuals were found non-compliant. Law enforcement arrested seven offenders on outstanding warrants or new registry violations. The remaining 22 offenders received warnings and follow-up visits for further investigation.

This operation highlights Scott County’s dedication to public safety by ensuring registered sex offenders adhere to all legal obligations. Additional follow-up and investigations will continue as necessary.
