Detroit, MI – The National Weather Service in Detroit/Pontiac says two rounds of wintry weather will affect southeast Michigan from Tuesday morning through Wednesday, bringing 1–4 inches of snow and occasional mixed precipitation.
The first round will begin early Tuesday morning, producing 1–2 inches of light snow before tapering off by early afternoon. Daytime highs will reach the low to mid-30s, with southwest winds up to 20 mph and gusts near 25 mph.
A second wave of precipitation arrives Tuesday evening into Wednesday, with an additional 1–4 inches of snow possible, especially north of I-69 near Saginaw, Flint, and Bad Axe. As temperatures rise into the upper 30s, some areas—particularly closer to Detroit and Monroe—may see a mix of rain and snow.
Motorists should expect slippery and snow-covered roads, particularly during the Tuesday morning and Wednesday morning commutes.
Winds will shift west-southwest at 10–20 mph, occasionally gusting to 25 mph, which could reduce visibility at times.
