Green Bay, WI – The National Weather Service (NWS) Green Bay is warning drivers to expect snow-covered and slippery roads early Wednesday morning as light to moderate snow continues south of Highway 8.

As of 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, area webcams showed mostly snow-covered roads across Wausau, Stevens Point, Neenah, and Green Bay, with snow still falling in some areas. The NWS urges motorists to allow extra travel time, reduce speed, and leave additional space between vehicles during the morning commute.

“Light to moderate snow continues early this morning, and most highways across central and northeast Wisconsin are snow-covered,” forecasters said. “Drivers should use caution, especially on untreated roads and elevated surfaces.”

Snowfall totals of 1 to 3 inches are possible before the system exits later this morning. Temperatures hovering near freezing are contributing to slick conditions, particularly on I-41, I-39, and US 51, where plows are still working to clear snow accumulation.

Travel is expected to improve by midday as snowfall tapers off and crews continue road treatments, but residual slick spots may linger into the early afternoon, especially on side streets and shaded areas.

The NWS reminds drivers to check road cameras and travel updates before heading out and to remain alert for sudden changes in road conditions.
