Omaha, NE – Tornadoes swept through Nebraska late Friday night, with one briefly touching down near an elementary school.
According to the National Weather Service Omaha/Valley, a Quasi-Linear Convective System (QLCS) caused 12 brief tornado spin-ups across the region. One tornado, near Shadow Lake Elementary School in Sarpy County, produced minor damage to homes and numerous trees. No injuries or fatalities were reported.
The tornadoes, all classified as EF0, also affected areas in Seward, Saunders, Washington, and Pottawattamie counties, causing various degrees of tree, power line, and structural damage. Further damage assessments are ongoing in Dodge, Colfax, and Platte counties.
