Omaha, NE – The National Weather Service has issued a severe weather threat for Nebraska tonight, with a 90% chance of thunderstorms across the region.

According to the National Weather Service, the storms are expected to develop between 7 PM and 4 AM, with a 15-30% chance of severe conditions. The highest risk areas include parts of Nebraska and Iowa, where hail over 2 inches in diameter, winds up to 80 mph, and potential tornadoes are possible.

Flash flooding is also a concern, with anticipated rainfall of 0.5 to 1 inch, heavier in the northern areas. The quick nature of the system may limit flooding risk, but residents are advised to stay informed and take necessary precautions.
