Cass County, MI – A man is dead after reportedly being involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash off US 12 Monday morning.
According to the Cass County Sheriff’s reports, the incident was reported by a caller who believed that they saw a body laying on the side of the road just before 6:30 AM. When deputies responded to the scene they found a man laying in a grassy area just off of US 12 west of Mason Street in Porter Township.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the man was involved in a fatal pedestrian versus vehicle hit-and-run.
The victims name is being withheld, pending notification of next of kin and investigation into the crash is underway. Anyone with information regarding the incident as asked to contact Cass County sheriff’s deputies at 269-445-8644.
