St. Joseph County, IN – A serious crash involving a minivan and a truck on the Indiana Toll Road near Notre Dame last night resulted in multiple injuries, including a UK resident being ejected from the vehicle.

According to Indiana State Police, the incident occurred at around 8:08 p.m. on April 22, 2024, near mile marker 76.8. A Chrysler Pacifica, driven by Stuart Davies, 53, from the United Kingdom, was preparing to exit the toll road when it was struck from behind by a truck. The impact caused the minivan to hit the guardrail and spin back into traffic, leading to significant injuries for one passenger.

Kerys Davies, 25, also from the UK, was ejected from the rear seat of the Chrysler despite wearing a seatbelt. She was taken to Memorial Hospital in South Bend with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Four other occupants, including the driver, sustained minor injuries. The truck driver involved in the collision was unharmed. Authorities have indicated that neither drugs nor alcohol were factors in the crash, which resulted in temporary lane closures but has since cleared.
