Marshall County Cocaine Bust: Largest in County History, $150K Bond, Child Services Intervention

Plymouth, IN – The Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office has reported a record-breaking drug seizure, marking it as the county’s most extensive cocaine bust to date.

The culmination of a meticulous investigation by the Marshall County Drug Task Force and partnering agencies led to a raid on April 3, 2024, in Bourbon, IN. This operation resulted in the confiscation of an estimated 380 grams of cocaine, with a street value upward of $36,000. In addition to the narcotics, suspected methamphetamine, counterfeit documents, and drug paraphernalia were also seized.Five individuals were apprehended at the location. 

Jackie Gomez, a 44-year-old Bourbon resident, is being held on a $150,000 cash bond facing multiple felony charges. Four others associated with maintaining a common nuisance were released on bond. This incident also necessitated the involvement of Marshall County Department of Child Services for two minors present at the scene.

Prosecuting Attorney E. Nelson Chipman Jr. lauded the inter-agency collaboration. The bust underscores a rigorous commitment to disrupting illegal drug operations and safeguarding the community. Despite the allegations, the judicial principle of presumption of innocence prevails until the accused are proven guilty.
