LaPorte, IN – Commuters brace for travel disruptions as State Road 39 closure looms.

The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) has announced that a segment of State Road 39 in LaPorte and Starke counties will be closed starting late April through early June for a bridge deck overlay project over the Kankakee River.

This strategic infrastructure maintenance is set to reroute traffic, utilizing State Road 8, U.S. 35, and U.S. 30 as the official detour pathways. INDOT’s forward notice aims to minimize inconvenience, ensuring drivers plan ahead for the changes.
