Hobart, IN – The intersection of State Road 130, State Road 51, and Hobart Road will see significant changes starting today as construction kicks off for a new roundabout designed to enhance traffic flow and safety in Lake County.

Scheduled to continue until mid-October, this extensive project will initially close access from State Road 51/Cleveland Ave to Hickey St, lasting through early July. Motorists are advised to anticipate increased traffic on Route 6 and utilize the suggested detour routes via U.S. 6 and State Road 149.

Details of this infrastructure enhancement were first shared with the public in October 2021, emphasizing its long-term benefits despite the short-term disruptions.
