Indiana Man Seeking ‘More Bullets’ Confronts Officers with Gun in Police Garage

East Chicago, IN – An odd scene unfolded in East Chicago on Wednesday morning when a local man, reportedly in need of ‘more bullets’ confronted police officers with a semi-automatic gun in their own garage. 

East Chicago Police report it began around 5:45 a.m. when an Officer was preparing his patrol car for the day, encountered 41-year-old Marc L. King allegedly holding the firearm inside the garage. Simultaneously, another Officer gearing up in the parking lot, spotted King entering the garage. Both officers quickly drew their weapons, leading to King’s surrender and subsequent arrest.

According to police reports, King, a resident of East Chicago, was escorted to the nearby jail, facing multiple charges including cocaine possession, unlawful handgun carrying, criminal trespassing, and unlawful possession of a firearm by a dangerous person. His unexpected appearance in the police’s secure detention area, a breach marked by clearly posted “No Trespassing” signs, underscores the unpredictable challenges law enforcement officers face daily.
