CROWN POINT, IN – Indiana’s police community is rallying around K-9 Jack, who was reportedly assaulted during a high-speed chase in Crown Point.
Following a thorough examination on Monday, the canine was cleared by his veterinarian. Now in the comforting presence of his handler, on the road to a full recovery.
According to Crown Point Police reports, Tyler Lee Pollard, 32, hailing from Kenosha, Wisconsin, has been charged, facing allegations of battery on a public safety official and intimidation, both level 6 felonies. Additional charges include resisting law enforcement, operating while intoxicated, disorderly conduct, and reckless driving.
Crown Point Police have cited Pollard for driving at a reckless 86 mph in a 45 mph zone and for the possession of an open alcoholic beverage in his vehicle. Pollard posted a $2,500 bail Sunday morning prior to charges being filed.
The Crown Point officers who endured minor injuries during the high-stress arrest, have been given the all-clear for duty.
