Crown Point, IN – Garage Fire Contained, House Saved by Firefighters

Crown Point, IN – Crown Point firefighters swiftly responded to a garage fire that spread to a home on Sunday evening around 6:30 p.m. in the 500 block of S. East Street.

According to the Crown Point Fire Rescue, the blaze was quickly controlled, resulting in the garage being a complete loss, while damage to the home was limited to one room. Thankfully, no injuries were reported. The fire is believed to be accidental.

Assistance was provided by the Merrillville Fire Department, Crown Point Police Department, and Crown Point Emergency Management Agency. Additionally, the St. John Fire Department and Tri-Creek EMS covered the city while firefighters were on the scene.
