Rensselaer, IN – A recent spate of wildlife collisions on Interstate 65 in Jasper County has prompted authorities to urge drivers to remain vigilant.
Early this morning, a vehicle struck a deer at mile marker 224 northbound, marking the third such incident this week. Fortunately, no human injuries were reported.
Firefighters from the Rensselaer Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene at approximately 3:40 AM. Crews noted the increased frequency of deer-related accidents in the area, attributing it partly to recent rains that may have contributed to slick road conditions and increased deer movement.
