Lake County, IN – A road rage incident on I-80/94 near the Indiana/Illinois state line left a juvenile injured Monday afternoon. The altercation occurred in a construction zone, resulting in a shooting that has prompted an investigation by Indiana State Police.
According to a press release from the Indiana State Police Lowell District, troopers were dispatched around 3:25 p.m. to the 7000 block of Madison St. in Hammond. The shooting reportedly took place in the construction area on I-80/94, just east of the state line. The juvenile victim sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound during the incident.
The Indiana State Police Criminal Investigations Division responded to the scene and is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Authorities are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has additional information to come forward.
