Romeoville, IL – A high-speed chase through LaPorte County, Indiana, culminating in a dramatic crash, has led to a Romeoville man, Martin Devalois, being sentenced to 92 months in federal prison. The 40-year-old was found guilty of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm after a jury trial in December.

Authorities reported that the chase involved speeds of up to 90 mph and ended when Devalois crashed into a snowbank. A loaded handgun was recovered from the center console of his vehicle. This incident marks yet another felony on Devalois’ record, which includes multiple felony convictions, thereby prohibiting him from possessing a firearm.

Following his prison term, Devalois will be placed under supervised release for three years.
