PEORIA, IL – A gruesome scene unfolded early Saturday morning in Peoria when a man was found shot in the middle of the roadway post midnight.
According to Peoria Police reports, at approximately 12:41 a.m., shotspotter alert Peoria Police to the 200 block of E. Thrush, revealing the dire scene.
The adult male victim, suffering severe injuries, was immediately rushed to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after. The identity of the victim is pending notification of next of kin.
The Peoria County Coroner is set to disclose the cause and manner of death. Peoria Police’s specialized units are spearheading an investigation, urging the public to assist with any relevant information.
