Orland Park, IL – In a heartfelt display of support for the armed forces, the Orland Park Veterans Commission welcomes community members to the Orland Park Public Library for a special Military Care Package Event on April 6th. From 12:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., the library will serve as a collection hub for goods intended to bring comfort to active troops abroad. The commission seeks travel-sized personal items, entertainment, and snacks for these care packages.

The Veterans Commission, an integral part of the community since 1991, emphasizes the importance of these care packages as a lifeline of home comfort to servicemen and women. This event not only aids those on duty but also unites the local community in a common cause of gratitude and support. Residents can participate by donating selected items, volunteering for packaging, or contributing to postage costs.

For additional details, including a list of approved items for donation, visit the Veterans section at orlandpark.org. Today’s event promises to be a meaningful occasion, reaffirming Orland Park’s commitment to its military and reflecting the town’s spirited civic pride.
