McHenry, IL – A dog remains on the loose following a violent incident on Thursday evening near McHenry, which resulted in injuries to three people, including a sheriff’s deputy.

Emergency services were summoned to the intersection of W Huemann Drive and Stilling Blvd around 5:50 p.m. after a distressing dog fight at a local residence. The situation escalated when the animals broke through a porch barrier and attacked the responders.

While McHenry County Animal Control has successfully secured three of the dogs, the search continues for the remaining canine, described as a small dark brown pit bull with a white facial stripe. The public is advised to avoid approaching the dog and to report any sightings to the Sheriff’s Office at (815) 459-6222. Authorities are taking extensive measures to ensure the safety of the community and resolve the situation safely.
