Round Lake, IL – The Round Lake Police Department are investigating two alleged luring incidents involving school children that occurred on January 23, 2024.
According to a media release from Chief David Prus dated January 29, 2024, the suspect vehicle is identified as a 2021 to 2024 model year Toyota Sienna XLE Hybrid, grey in color. Additionally, a forensic artist has created a multi-victim composite sketch of the suspect, which has been released alongside information about the vehicle.
Both incidents took place in the early morning of January 23, near the 30 block of MacGillis Drive, between Whispering Oaks Lane and Treehouse Lane. The suspect is described as a male of Hispanic or Asian descent, approximately 5 feet 2 inches tall, with a slender build, short facial hair on his chin, and speaking with a slight Spanish-sounding accent. He was last seen wearing a dark or black hooded sweatshirt with the hood up and blue jeans.
The Round Lake Police Department is continuing their investigation and has increased patrols in the area during school bus pickup and drop-off times.
