Bourbonnais, IL – The Village Campus project, a transformative $18.1 million development in Bourbonnais, is nearing completion, with significant progress reported at Monday night’s Village Board meeting.
Mayor Paul Schore highlighted that the construction, which began in November 2022, has advanced significantly, featuring new sod and freshly planted trees, signaling the project’s approach to its final stages. This new community centerpiece, under construction for 17 months, is set to be substantially completed by June.
The project’s culmination will align with Bourbonnais’ annual Friendship Festival, providing a fitting backdrop for its official unveiling. The mayor expressed enthusiasm about the campus’s potential to enhance community life and confirmed plans for a grand opening ceremony during the festival.
Residents and visitors can look forward to exploring the fully landscaped and functional space, designed to serve as a social and recreational hub in the heart of Bourbonnais. This strategic timing not only underscores the project’s importance to the community but also ensures it will be a highlight of the festival’s celebrations.
