Palos Hills, IL — A scam involving French bulldog puppy sales on Facebook has surfaced in Palos Hills, serving as a stark warning to potential pet owners throughout Illinois.

On April 6, local police responded to a deceptive practice complaint on the 8400 block of West 103rd Terrace. Residents reported that they had been enticed by an online advertisement promising French bulldog puppies. Eager to welcome a new pet, they transferred $400 through Apple Wallet for what was claimed to be necessary immunization records. Unfortunately, after receiving the payment, the seller cut off all communications and never delivered the puppy.

This incident is part of a growing trend of pet sale scams on social media platforms, where scammers exploit the emotional appeal of pet ownership. Palos Hills Police are intensifying their investigations into these fraudulent schemes and are advising the public to be extremely cautious. They recommend verifying the credibility of pet sellers by checking reviews and insisting on meeting the pet in person before any money changes hands.
