Elgin, IL – Over two years after a distressing discovery by two young children in Elgin, their father, Victor H. Ayllon, has pled guilty to first-degree murder of his wife, Wendy Ayllon. 

The announcement came from Kane County State’s Attorney Jamie L. Mosser, with the sentencing scheduled for June 20, 2024.The grim events unfolded on July 12, 2021, when a 4-year-old boy was found wandering alone, leading police to the family’s home where they found his 3-year-old brother and their mother’s lifeless body. An argument captured on a home camera ended tragically when Victor strangled Wendy following accusations of infidelity and amid his struggle with drug addiction.

Ayllon, who faces 20 to 60 years in prison, admitted to the crime during police interviews. The upcoming sentencing aims to deliver justice for Wendy Ayllon, while State’s Attorney Mosser highlighted the ongoing trauma faced by the children, thanking local detectives and police for their efforts in resolving the case.
